Aviation Safety Program

UND Aerospace places above all other considerations the safety and well-being of its students, faculty, staff, and visitors. It is the first duty of all employees to support lawful requirements and standard operating procedures regarding safety and provide a safe and healthy working environment.

UND Aerospace provides an active, positive Aviation Safety Program. The primary goal of the program is to:

   1. Identify risks
   2. Eliminate those it can
   3. Reduce others to an acceptable level

UND Aerospace has a full time Director of Safety, Mr. Dana Siewert, who reports directly to the Dean of UND Aerospace. The Director of Safety is responsible for implementing and overseeing the Aviation Safety Program, however, it is the responsibility of all levels of supervision to maintain the highest level of safety. Accident prevention is the first duty of all students, faculty and staff at UND Aerospace.
